Why Do We Get Visible Leg Veins?

Why Do We Get Visible Leg Veins?

Varicose and spider veins are damaged veins that develop when the tiny, one-way valves within the veins weaken. In healthy veins, these valves ensure blood flows in one direction—back toward the heart. When the valves become weak or damaged, blood can flow backward and pool inside the vein. This buildup of blood increases pressure on the vein walls, causing them to weaken and bulge over time. Eventually, this results in the appearance of varicose or spider veins.

Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)

Endovenous laser therapy is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins. It is significantly less invasive than traditional saphenous vein stripping and offers a more cosmetically appealing outcome due to reduced scarring. The treatment works by delivering laser energy directly inside the affected vein (intravenous lumen), effectively closing and destroying the damaged blood vessel.

Benefits of Minimally Invasive Procedures

Minimally invasive techniques offer numerous advantages, including reduced bleeding, shorter treatment times, and less patient discomfort. These procedures are simple and can often be performed on an outpatient basis for mild cases. Patients also experience a lower risk of postoperative infection, minimal pain, and faster recovery times. Additionally, the aesthetic results are excellent, with little to no scarring after surgery.

It typically takes about 2 to 3 weeks for patients undergoing EVLT to heal and begin seeing results. For ambulatory hook phlebectomy, it may take several months to fully appreciate the benefits of the treatment.

Post-Treatment Care for EVLT at Home

Apply an ice pack to the treated area for 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.
Check the incision sites daily for signs of infection or complications.
Keep the incision sites dry for the first 48 hours.
Wear compression stockings as advised, typically for a few days to several weeks.
Avoid sitting or lying down for extended periods.
Avoid standing for long durations.

Radial Fiber Technology

Radial fiber technology features an innovative design that eliminates direct contact between the laser tip and the vein wall. This significantly reduces the risk of vein wall damage compared to traditional bare-tip fibers.

We offer radial fibers in 400μm and 600μm sizes, with and without centimeter markings.

We also provide bare-tip fibers in various sizes (200μm, 300μm, 400μm, 600μm, 800μm, and 1000μm), suitable for endolift facial lifting and other applications.
